Photography is my way of slowing down and paying attention. It encourages me to be still, to look hard, and to be curious. It challenges me to look beyond the obvious, to discover light, texture, expression, and to find the things that are easily overlooked. The more I look, the more I see and the more curious I become. My photography isn't about documenting the world as much as it is about uncovering it. It's about paying attention, embracing curiosity, and finding beauty in both the extraordinary and the everyday.
For me, photography is also about learning – new techniques, new places, different subjects captured in different ways. My camera takes me places I wouldn’t otherwise go. It teaches me to ask questions, and to look for answers to those questions in new and sometimes surprising places. Like an abstract image in a rose.
Some of my photographs tell a familiar story. Others ask you to slow down and look again. Sometimes I hope you'll look twice and wonder, what is that? Not every photograph needs an explanation. Perhaps it's enough to feel something—to be captivated by the mystery in front of you. If you find yourself thinking, I have no idea what this is, but I love it, that makes me happy.
